It has been proven that a 18% mix ofprotein in pigeon feed is the ideal amount, in pigeon racing. Anymorethan 18% doesn’t do any harm but doesn’t have any improvements.
Fats are essential for sustainedflight. And we are talking about good fats, not the kind that us,humans eat and make us obese. The fat that racing pigeons eat helpthem store energy, so for long distance races they don’t run out ofenergy half way. They can access this fat they have stored toprovided energy throughout the whole race. Fat slowly releases theenergy over a long period, in very small amounts.
Carbohydrates are great for shortbursts of energy. They are actually the simple and complex sugarsfound in pigeon feed. These sugars are not really stored in the bodylike fats are. Carbohydrates are for immediate energy, and for shortterm. In the first 10 minutes of flying, pigeons have burned up mostof their carbohydrates, so that is why it is important to have fatsin racing pigeon feed for long distance races. For short distancepigeon racing, carbohydrates is all that is needed to get them fromstart to finish so you don’t need to feed them as much fat, as itwill slow them down. This is why it is so important to know what yourfeeding your pigeons, and to train them properly. It is why mostpigeon fanciers never win races.
Of course there are many more nutrientsto know about and educate yourself about to gain an advantage in thesky with pigeons racing. But these 3 are key to have success. Withoutthem, it will be hard to go up against pigeons that are ready to gowith the proper amounts of carbohydrates and fats.

]]>MMA fighter Urijah Faber has started his latest campaign against long time rival Dominick Cruz. The reason is because he will in fact face the champ after coaching a season of The Ultimate Fighter against Cruz. The two have a long history that dates back. During their early career, the two faced off in WEC promotions. Faber the champ at the time looked to defend his belt against a trash talking new kid named Dominick Cruz. Faber finished the bout early with a standing guillotine in the first, making it look like an easy fight. Over the years Cruz had harbored an anger for Faber, trash talking him to the media every chance he got.
Urijah Faber next fight against Cruz proved to be completely different. With roles now reversed, Cruz the defending champ, was able to deefeat a tough Faber after a five round unanimous decision deemed by the judges. Urijah Faber was not discouraged by the loss however and came back in his next fight and shimply man handled the former champ Brian Boles in the first round, making a large statement that there is no other competition close to Cruz or himself. The UFC was very impressed with Faber and decided to give the former dominating champ another shot at his nemesis Dominick Cruz. The two will do their coaching duties against each other on the first ever live TUF event and then finish the year out with a huge battle that will be on the TUF Finale or perhaps a pay per view event.
